Since Delta Sigma Pi is a professional business fraternity and rooted in greek life. We go through a formal process of recruitment each semester. This year our recruitment activities are planned from Monday, August 30th to Thursday, September 9th.
Where do I start?
Attend Recruitment Activities and get to know the current members of the chapter.
Am I able to back out if I find DSP isn't for me?
Yes! We encourage you to try out Delta Sigma Pi even if you are a wee bit interested! We will invite you to our Thursday meetings and our socials for you to get a taste of what our membership entails before you will formally be called a brother at initiation.
What do I do as a recruit of Delta Sigma Pi?
The first formal event of recruits is the Pledge Ceremony, which is a mandatory event based on the tradition of Delta Sigma Pi history.
From there, you will have a five weeks to "study" the history of Delta Sigma Pi and the general information you will need to know as a brother. During these 5 weeks, you will attend weekly meetings with the VP Pledge Education and walk through virtual modules. After the 5 weeks, we will hold an initation where you will bcome a full brother into our chapter!
What happens after recruitment?
You become a full brother and can run for leadership positions. Once becoming a full brother you do have responsibiities, since we strive to be students of excellence and leadership.
What do the responsibilities of being a full brother look like?
First and formost you have to attend weekly meetings. If you hold a position you will attend an additional meeting with all the postion holders. We have a point system that helps our brothers stay on track and motivated within the chapter, some of the other responsibilites include at least 5 hours of commnity service each semester and attending both the Pledge Ceremony and Initation each semester. (Don't worry about community service, we plan for multiple events to get your hours in!)
